Ever since his wife left him and his mother went missing, the five members of the family have been separated. The young eldest son bravely shoulders the burden of taking care of his younger siblings and builds an unusual but dependable cobweb house for his family. Mara Abeer-Abi Feid has shown her exceptional artistic talent in her feature debut. She turns a social-news worthy story into a dark fairy tale filled with abstract and surreal elements, much like a Tim Burton story, setting the characters effortlessly between the boundary of sorrowful reality and delightful dreams. In the meantime, the use of black and white tones adds a touch of melancholy to the film, giving it a sense of otherworldly charm.
