It is a movie adaptation of a popular novel entitled "Ishikawa Goemon", which features the legendary thief of the Sengoku period, Ishikawa Goemon, as a rebellious lower-ranking ninja who defies authority. Directed by social drama veteran Safo Yamamoto, the film showcases realistic and intense action scenes, as well as the cries of defiance from the lower-ranking ninjas who have no choice but to live as pawns of the ruling elite. Set in the final years of the Sengoku period, Oda Nobunaga, with a desire to conquer the entire nation, begins a campaign to eradicate powerful religious groups such as Enryaku-ji and Ishiyama Hongan-ji. In Iga province, Ishikawa Goemon, under the command of Momen hundredth day, is a highly skilled ninja who commands respect from his peers. As ninjas of the Tendai and Shingon sects receive secret orders to assassinate Nobunaga, Goemon is inexplicably spared. The powerful performance of Yuunosuke Ito as Momen hundredth day is not to be missed.
