Until midnight, they finally drag their tired bodies and footsteps to "The Midnight Diner," a small restaurant that opens from midnight till the next morning, to taste the delicious dishes prepared by the kind and quiet boss (played by Kaoru Kobayashi). Among these people are a former singer, a new struggling cartoonist, a detective who has lost faith in humanity, a sharp-tongued Osaka girl, and old classmates who reunite after a long time. They laugh, drink, despair, and cry, while buried feelings and memories are brought to the surface by the aroma of the food and alcohol. This film, based on the manga by Yaro Abe, is the third installment in the series, with renowned directors Atsuhiro Yamashita and Mikiko Kato involved in the production.
